JAN - MAR COMEDY DIRECTOR - BLANC ENCORE
Back at the Sydney Opera House 3 years later with a brand new show "BLANC DE BLANC ENCORE!". Offstage as Comedy Director and onstage being a co-host. Here is some press from the show:

***** - Theatre People

"The lanky pale Novich reprises his clowning antics along with delivering a hilarious mimed physical comedy...A brilliant night of grown up entertainment delivered with class, polish and precision..." - Broadway World

"It wasn’t all glamour though. The sex was perfectly broken up by hilarious intervals by the two hosts... Spencer was the goof to Remy’s cute, and the two were a seamless comedic pairing." -The Plus Ones

"You’d be wrong to think Spencer was nothing more than a slapstick comedian. His solo later on in the show was the character skit of your nightmares. He shook and mimed to what sounded like a possessed radio, leaving me equal parts mesmerised and terrified." - The Plus Ones

SEPTEMBER ARTISTIC ASSOCIATE - LIFE THE SHOW
Headed down for my 4th consecutive show at Brisbane Festival! This is one of my favorite festivals - it is filled with such strong and diverse performances, I always leave inspired.
This time I'll be working offstage on the creative team helping with and writing comedy for LIFE the show.
Come check it out!

JULY ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR - DELUXE DELUXE
I am down under in Australia's Gold Coast at the Home of the Arts associate directing the newest Strut N Fret show "Deluxe Deluxe".

We have just opened! Here is a little early press:

...it’s a fun and highly entertaining evening out that will draw gasps and giggles from the most jaded crowds, and see you walking out with a giant smile on your dial. Also: super hot half-naked people. What more could you want?" -BlankGC

NOVEMBER COMEDY CONSULTANT FOR PALAZZO
Next week I leave Australia for Austria. I am heading over to work at Palazzo as a Comedy Consultant for a remount of their "Kings & Queens" show. Very excited to be working with such an immensely talented group of creatives and performers!

2017 LOVE RIOT OPENS ON P&O
Strut N' Fret's Production of Love Riot has taken sail on P & O's Pacific Explorer! I had the opportunity to be on the creative team for this show, developing and writing comic material and soundscapes for use by the cast. So if you happen to be cruising sometime soon keep your ears peeled for my comic stylings! Here is some of the press on the show

"..cruise ship entertainment has gone to a whole new level."

"Love Riot, a lewd and rude arty extravaganza of dizzying circus acrobatics and cheeky puns that would be quite at home on stage at the Opera House or an inner city back-street theatre."
"The risqué show, with its saucy humour and stylised choreography, is part of P&O’s bid to stand out in the ever-expanding world of cruising"

"undeniably memorable"
"A great laugh"

"It’s a unique entertainment experience which you’ll remember for years to come.
And this, in my view, is just what a holiday should offer up... strap in for the ride and enjoy the latex and laughs. It really is a riot." -Escape MAGAZINE

"But mostly it is hilarious; the best comedy on the ship. We laughed almost non-stop for 90 minutes. A virgin juggler ("also known as a juggler") juggles three life-size blow-up dolls; a medley of love songs ends in compromising positions... We're still concerned about the girl with the vanishing balloon." - Cruise Critic

SEPT - OCT WE ARE BACK IN GOLD COAST!
Back again to the Gold Coast - they asked for it so we went back... Some love from this time around:

"Cirque du Soleil on steroids...hilariously funny and original" - Stage Whispers

"Highlights of the show would have to go to Blanc de Blanc’s Aussie co-host, Spencer Novich, whose incredible mime and comic dramatisations have you unexpectedly crying with laughter." -MyCityLife
SEPT FUN HOUSE AT BRISFEST
Strut N Fret's production of FUN HOUSE is officially underway. I had the opportunity to co-develop and co-create the comedy routines on this production which will be at Brisbane Festival all of September. Come check it out if you want to see me as a unicorn.
Here's a little love from the press so far:

"The standouts are physical comedians and Fun House co-hosts Novich and Wakenshaw." - Courier Mail

"Stars Spencer Novich and Trygve Wakenshaw are the glue that holds the 70-minute mish-mash of circus-inspired mayhem together. Their sexy unicorn and zany rabbit personas lead the talented cast through ukulele jams, tightrope walking, trapeze, an awesome hula-hoop display and sky-high acrobatics."

"Disney remixes, dance routines, crazy juggling antics and perfectly timed lip syncs."
-The Au Review

JUNE - AUG MAP57 AND DARWIN FEST
Back with Blanc again - First up at Melbourne's brand new winter wonderland, the Map57 Festival. Then moving on up to the tropical Northern Territory for Darwin Festival. Here has been a little of the positive press so far!

★★★★½ - Sydney Morning Herald

"In particular Spencer Novich was the standout of the show for me with his distinct variety of contortion and mime." - The AuReview

"Perhaps the least naughty of all the performers is the show's co-host Spencer Novich, who manages to pull off some of the biggest laughs of the night through mime and some incredible comic timing. " - Sydney Morning Herald

'Spencer Novich, an eccentric, scrawny and charming clown, reappears frequently to disturb the equilibrium of the poseur, Romeo, and his whimsical sound effects clown routine is both clever and hilarious." - Herald Sun

"Among the many other highlights is the unconventional serving of a glass of bubbles that requires the entire ensemble’s theatricality and flexibility, and a routine by Spencer Novich that reveals he’s more than Romeo’s comic sidekick. Like a manic channel surfer, he mimes, jerks and grimaces his way through a frantically edited soundtrack, ending with a pose of superhuman strength and balance." - ArtsHub

FEB-APR BLANC DE BLANC DOWN UNDER (AGAIN)

Adelaide Fringe And Gold Coast

Headlining the Garden of Unearthly Delights with Blanc de Blanc then shifting over to sunny Gold Coast. Here is a little love:
The sticky white goo that binds the whole show together emanates from within the gangly physical comedian Spencer Novich; Romeo’s foil, a depraved love child of Charlie Chaplin, Jim Carrey and every limb flailing comic in between. - Scenstr
Perfectly timed Comedy Genius - Barefoot Review
Sidekick Spencer is Hilarious - InDaily
It is hard to take one’s eyes off Novich; his comic timing and physicality are sublime. - Stage Whispers

SEPT - OCT BLANC DE BLANC CONTINUES
JULY - AUG BLANC DE BLANC IN LONDON
Heading back to Australia to perform at Brisbane Festival and Perth's Regal Theater through October! Here is some love from the Oz Press!

Brisbane Times

"But the star of the show is undoubtedly Spencer Novich. It seems unfair to call him a clown or a contortionist - the two specialities he brings to the show - because he really is so much more. Even crouched on the corner of the stage, or standing in dim light he manages to draw attention in the most lovely way. His comedic timing is spot on and his bendy, twisty, face and body is a delight."

Aussie Theatre

"Spencer Novich’s wiry body contortions were both amazing and grotesque, like a train wreck you can’t seem to look away from. In fact, the unassuming ring-master’s sidekick really pulled the show together, and helped keep it buoyant. The mash-up soundtrack that supported the act was a piece of genius."

Blue Curtains Brisbane

"the star of the show is undoubtedly Spencer Novich, the jester of sorts whose extreme characterisation includes mix of clowning and contortionism. And his perfect delivery, again, of the same mimed monologue of sorts, set to sound effects and samples randomly mashed together from all range of sources, is worth the repeat for its brilliance."

Blanc de Blanc has been performing at the Hippodrome in London's West End! We will be here until the end of August. Here is some press I have received for my work in the show:

Metro UK
"In a shock turn of events, it’s the clown who steals the show. Rubber-limbed Spencer Novich, who looks as if he's wandered in from The Rocky Horror Picture Show, starts out playing the virgin in the brothel. But when he struts his stuff, it is simply mind-blowing. His scratch edit comedy dance mime fizzes like a firecracker, packing more into three minutes than some shows manage in two hours. My cork was well and truly popped."

On In London
"...perfect comedic timing and execution"

West End Wilma

"Comedy genius Spencer Novich brings a refreshing sense of wit and humor to the performance through his mime and extraordinary contortion numbers, which will have you gasping with disbelief."
FEB BLANC DE BLANC OPERA HOUSE REVIEWS
Timeout - AUS - "****"
"The cast themselves are plenty pretty – but our favourites are the ‘freaks’ of the outfit: weedy gofer-type Spencer Novich and Sydney’s ‘queen of queer’, Emma Maye Gibson... They both have the best bits in the show, and bring some transgressive grit and sideshow surreality to an otherwise too-smooth operation."
"if Baz Luhrmann made a nightclub, it would be this – albeit with more red velvet."
"A damn good time."
TheaterPeople - "****"
"thrilling and exhilarating"
Australian Stage
"it's a celebration of human anatomy, its form and function and physique, the sensual and the sexual, hedonism and discipline. A tricky tacky guilty pleasure."
DEC - FEB BLANC DE BLANC WORLD PREMIERE
Heading to Australia's Sydney Opera House to develop, creative consult, and perform in a brand new show with Strut N' Fret Production House.

OCT FIREFLY FIELD WORKSHOP

SEPT FEAR & DELIGHT AT BRISFEST
Had a wonderful time as Comedy Designer for Strut N' Fret's Production of "Fear & Delight" at the Brisbane Festival. Here are some kind words from the Australian press about my work:
"Clown Spencer Novich is genuinely, outrageously funny, a quality rather rarer in circus than one would wish." - The Australian
"Spencer Novich provides the comedic relief and is the stand-out performer: genuinely funny in a dark and twisted way, and surprisingly original." - Daily Review
"The highlight is the clowning from Spencer Novich, who might be what happens if Heath Ledger’s Joker and Robin Williams had a love child." - ABC Arts
